Williams College student account questions

What happens if I have an unpaid balance at Williams?

Any outstanding balance not paid within 30 days of notice may trigger a $250 late fee and holds on your account. If your balance is unpaid by the start of the semester, Williams may not permit you to enroll in classes or remain in residence (administrative leave). Holds can deny access to course registration, transcripts, diploma, housing lottery, and parking lottery. After graduation or withdrawal, unpaid accounts may be sent to a collection agency. Contact Student Financial Services: sfs@williams.edu | 413-597-4181.

What holds can prevent me from registering at Williams?

Outstanding balances can trigger multiple holds at Williams: you may be denied access to the course registration system, your academic transcript, your diploma (graduating students), the housing lottery, and the parking lottery. If unpaid by the start of semester without arrangements, you may be placed on administrative leave and unable to enroll. To resolve a financial hold, contact Student Financial Services: sfs@williams.edu | 413-597-4181.
