The University of Tennessee-Knoxville student account questions

What happens if I have an unpaid balance at UT?

If you don't pay your Account Balance in full or enroll in the Deferred Payment Plan by the semester's due date, UT will add late fees and registration holds to your account. Unpaid fees block access to registration, transcripts, grades, and your diploma. If an account remains unpaid by the end of the term, it becomes delinquent and may be referred to an outside collection agency with collection fees of 17% or more. Contact One Stop at 865-974-1111 (Mon–Thu 9am–6pm, Fri 9am–5pm) or through the Vol Connect Portal in MyUTK to discuss your options.

What holds can prevent me from registering at UT?

Registration holds at UT include financial holds (unpaid balance — must pay in full to clear) and advising holds (required advisor meeting not completed). To see your active holds, log in to MyUTK and select 'View Holds' from the 'My Resources' menu. To clear a financial hold, pay your balance in full through MyUTK. To clear an advising hold, contact your assigned academic advisor.

Source

Where can I check my account balance and holds at UT?

Log in to MyUTK (my.utk.edu) and go to the 'My Financial Information' section to view your billing statement and account balance. Select 'View Holds' under 'My Resources' to see any active holds and instructions on how to resolve them. For questions, contact One Stop at 865-974-1111.

How does the UT Deferred Payment Plan work?

UT's Deferred Payment Plan lets you split your semester balance into three payments: 50% due at enrollment (plus a $30 service fee if you enroll yourself, or $40 if the Bursar adds you), then 25% the following month, and the final 25% the month after. Miss an installment and a $35 late fee is charged. Enroll through MyUTK under 'Pay Fees/Account Balances' → 'Payment Plans.' The plan is available to students in good financial standing with a balance of $100 or more.
