University of New Mexico-Main Campus student account questions
What happens if I have an unpaid balance at UNM?
If your bill is not paid by the due date, UNM assesses a 1.2% monthly service charge on your past-due balance and places a Bursar Past-Due hold (BP) on your account, blocking registration. A prior semester balance greater than $200 can result in Enrollment Cancellation—being dropped from all current semester courses. If the account remains unpaid (generally >120 days), UNM may refer it to an external collection agency with fees of up to 40% of the balance. Contact the Bursar's Office at (505) 277-5363, Monday–Friday 8 AM–4:30 PM.
What types of holds can prevent me from registering at UNM?
Holds that block registration at UNM include: Bursar Past-Due (BP), Bursar Collections (BC), Bursar Disenrollment (BN), Advisement (AV), Admissions Incomplete (AI), Library (LI), Title IV Refund (BT), Orientation (OR), Dean of Students (DS), Civil Rights (CR), Educational Conference (EC), and Title IX (IX). Check your holds at my.unm.edu via LoboWeb. To resolve financial holds, contact the Bursar's Office at (505) 277-5363.
Where can I view my bill and account holds at UNM?
Log in to myUNM at my.unm.edu and access LoboWeb (Bursar Account Suite). Bills are posted monthly after the 10th and you'll receive an email notification to your UNM email. To view active holds, go to the Registration & Records menu. You can also see your Enrollment Cancellation Balance there.
How do I set up a payment plan to avoid a financial hold at UNM?
UNM offers 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-payment plans each Fall/Spring semester through the Bursar Account Suite at my.unm.edu. Setup fees range from $30 (2-pay) to $75 (5-pay) at $15 per payment. You must be enrolled, have at least $100 in current charges, and have no prior balance greater than $200. Payments are automatically deducted on the 10th of each month. A payment plan avoids the 1.2% monthly service charge and the Bursar Past-Due hold.
