University of Nevada-Las Vegas student account questions
What happens if I don't pay my tuition by the deadline at UNLV?
UNLV charges a late fee of $25 per day (up to a maximum of $250 per semester) starting the day after the payment deadline. After 90 days, your account is referred to a collection agency and reported to national credit bureaus. Any unpaid balance also places a financial hold blocking future course registration. Contact Cashiering & Student Accounts at cashiering@unlv.edu or 702-895-3683 to discuss payment options.
What holds can prevent me from registering at UNLV?
Any unpaid balance on your student account creates a financial hold that blocks future registration. If you're on a payment plan and miss an installment, the remaining balance becomes immediately due and a hold is placed. Additional holds may come from the Registrar, advising, or other offices. Check your active holds by logging into MyUNLV at https://my.unlv.nevada.edu/ and viewing your Tasks tile.
How do I check my account balance and holds at UNLV?
Log into MyUNLV at https://my.unlv.nevada.edu/ and look for the 'My Account' or 'Tasks' tiles to see your balance and any active holds. For questions about your student account, contact Cashiering & Student Accounts at cashiering@unlv.edu or 702-895-3683, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
What happens if I withdraw from UNLV mid-semester?
UNLV refunds 100% of tuition for individual course drops through day 5 of the semester. For a total withdrawal, you receive a 50% refund through week 6 and no refund after that. If you received federal financial aid, UNLV must calculate your earned aid and may require you to return a portion. Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal — you must officially drop or withdraw to avoid financial liability.
