What happens if I don't pay my bill by the UCSB fee payment deadline?

If your BARC balance is not paid by 4 PM on the quarterly fee payment deadline (September 15 for Fall, December 15 for Winter, March 15 for Spring), you will be automatically dropped from all of your classes. A $50 late payment fee will also be charged. Once dropped, your class spaces may be filled from a waitlist. To avoid this, pay via MyBARC or contact BARC at barc.info@bfs.ucsb.edu or call/text (805) 585-5821. Mon-Fri 9am-noon and 1pm-4pm PST.

What registration blocks can prevent me from enrolling at UCSB?

Registration blocks at UCSB can include financial blocks (unpaid fees not paid by the quarterly deadline), academic blocks, and other department holds. Check your active blocks in GOLD (my.sa.ucsb.edu/gold) under the Registration section. Each block lists the department to contact to resolve it. Log in to GOLD (Gaucho On-Line Data) at my.sa.ucsb.edu/gold using your UCSBNetID and password — MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) is required. Under 'Registration' you can see your registration blocks and fee/enrollment status. To view and pay your bill, use the MyBARC portal at bfs.ucsb.edu/barc. Billing notices are sent to your UMail (umail.ucsb.edu) student email account each month.
