Southeastern University student account questions

What is Financial Clearance at Southeastern University, and what happens if I don't complete it?

Financial clearance ('Fire Ready') is required before SEU can guarantee your class registration and housing each semester. You are considered financially clear when your anticipated costs are fully covered by approved financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans) and/or an approved payment plan. If you do not obtain financial clearance before the semester begins, SEU may deactivate your student ID card, withdraw you from your classes, and remove you from campus housing. Contact Student Financial Services at sfs@seu.edu or 800.500.8760 (Mon–Fri, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.) to make arrangements.

What happens if I have an unpaid balance at Southeastern University?

Students with unpaid balances at SEU may incur finance charges and/or a financial hold that prevents future course registration. All unauthorized balances not covered by financial aid are due 30 days prior to the first day of class, and past-due balances must be paid in full before you can register for a future semester. Failure to make satisfactory financial arrangements can result in delay of graduation, denial of registration, removal from classes, withholding of transcripts, and/or referral to collections. Unresolved balances after the last day of attendance are sent to the SEU Collections Office and may be reported to national credit bureaus. Contact the Cashier's Office at cashier@seu.edu or Student Financial Services at sfs@seu.edu or 800.500.8760.

What is SEU's refund policy if I withdraw from a full-semester (16-week) class?

For 16-week classes, you receive a 100% tuition refund if you drop during the add/drop period (typically the first week). After that, refunds decrease by 25% each week: 75% after add/drop through the 2nd full week; 50% after the 2nd through 3rd full week; 25% after the 3rd through 4th full week; and no refund after the 4th full week. General fees (technology, student fees) are not refundable after add/drop. If you decide not to attend a class, you must formally drop it by the published add/drop deadline — stopping attendance without dropping does not constitute an official withdrawal.
