Oregon State University student account questions

What happens if I have an unpaid balance at Oregon State University?

If your account balance exceeds $500.00 from the current term, a financial registration hold (BR hold) is placed on your account, preventing you from registering for future terms. You also face an $85.00 late payment fee (charged once per term if your balance is over $500 and you are not on a payment plan, assessed on the 1st of the month following the first eBill of the term). If you are no longer enrolled and your balance remains unpaid after week 4 of the next term, your account enters OSU's Internal Debt Resolution process — a one-time processing fee of up to $60.00 is charged plus 1% monthly interest. After approximately 90 days, OSU may refer the account to an outside collection agency. Contact Student Account Services at StudentAccountServices@oregonstate.edu or 541-737-3775.

What holds can prevent me from registering at Oregon State?

Several types of holds can block registration at OSU: BR (Balance Due) hold — account balance exceeds $500.00 from the current term; BC (Full Balance Due) hold — former students or accounts referred to collections must pay in full; BG (Write-Off Balance Due) — unpaid debt no longer in active collections; BL (Loans Hold) — delinquent OSU loan; BE (Department of Revenue Hold) — account assigned to Oregon DOR. Non-financial holds from other departments (advisor holds, academic standing, etc.) may also affect registration. View all your active holds at my.oregonstate.edu or in Beaver Hub under Academics. To clear a BR hold, pay down your balance to the amount shown on the hold line or enroll in an OSU payment plan at mybill.oregonstate.edu.
