Your inbox is full of noise. Even if you check it every day, that one financial aid deadline or registration hold notice is easy to miss in the flood.

Northeastern Illinois University student account questions
What happens if I have an unpaid balance at NEIU?
If your balance exceeds $100 after the payment deadline, an Accounts Receivable (AR) hold is placed on your account, preventing you from registering for the next semester or making schedule changes. You may also be assessed a $10 deferred payment fee and/or a $50 outstanding balance fee. Your classes will NOT be dropped due to non-payment. If no payment plan is set up, your account may be referred to a third-party debt collection agency. Contact Student Payment Services at studentpaymentservices@neiu.edu or (773) 442-5165 to arrange a payment plan.
What holds can prevent me from registering at NEIU?
Registration holds at NEIU include: Accounts Receivable hold (unpaid balance over $100), Advisement hold (required advising not completed), Admissions hold, Dean of Students hold, and Graduation Fee hold, among others. Log in to NEIUport to see your active holds. To resolve an AR hold, contact Student Payment Services at studentpaymentservices@neiu.edu or (773) 442-5165. To resolve an Advisement hold, email advising@neiu.edu.
What is NEIU's refund policy if I withdraw from a course?
NEIU has a tuition credit/refund schedule based on when you withdraw; specific dates vary by semester and are listed in the Schedule of Classes. A $10 processing fee is deducted for complete withdrawal from all courses. If you do not officially withdraw, you will receive an 'F' grade and remain responsible for all charges. Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal — you must officially drop courses in NEIUport.
Who do I contact about my bill at NEIU?
Contact Student Payment Services (Accounts Receivable) at studentpaymentservices@neiu.edu or (773) 442-5165, located in Building D, Room 101 on the main campus. Pay your bill or view your balance online through NEIUport. For financial aid questions, contact financial-aid@neiu.edu or (773) 442-5016.
