When is my tuition bill due at Kansas State University?

Bills are due by 3pm on the 15th of each month. For Fall semester, the first bill is due by 3pm on the first day of classes in August. For Spring, the first bill is due by 3pm on the first day of classes in January. Bills are generated after close of the 15th each month and can be viewed in KSIS.

Is there a late fee if I don't pay my bill on time at K-State?

Yes. A 1.5% default fee is charged monthly on any past due balance if not paid by the due date (3pm on the 15th or 3pm on the first day of class). This late fee recurs each month the balance remains unpaid.

Will an unpaid balance put a hold on my K-State account?

Yes. A C11 hold is placed when your balance exceeds $2,000 (blocks enrollment and adding courses). A C04 hold is placed when your balance is more than 120 days past due (blocks enrollment). A C16 hold (notification-only, does NOT block enrollment) is placed for any past due balance. A CON hold is placed if your account is referred for collection.

What is the TIPP payment plan at K-State and how much does it cost?

TIPP (Tuition Installment Payment Plan) lets you split your semester bill into installments. The enrollment fee is $45 for fall and spring semesters, or $24 for summer. Fall and spring plans have 4 installments; summer plans have 2 installments.

A $30 returned payment fee is charged for any returned check or dishonored electronic payment.

What is the tuition refund schedule if I drop classes or withdraw from K-State?

Refunds are calculated by calendar days from the start of the term. For full-term courses: 100% refund through the 21st calendar day; 50% refund from the 22nd through 28th calendar day; no refund after the 28th calendar day. Non-standard session and summer courses are prorated based on course length.

Is two-factor authentication (MFA) required at K-State?

Yes. All K-State students must enroll in and use Duo two-factor authentication. New students receive an email with enrollment instructions after their account is activated and must complete enrollment within two weeks.

After 5 billing cycle notifications with no payment, your account is referred to a collection agency on the 6th billing cycle. An additional 15% collections fee is added to your outstanding balance. K-State also participates in the Kansas State Setoff program.

Yes. By enrolling at Kansas State University, you agree to the Financial Responsibility Agreement, making you financially responsible for all charges incurred.
