Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University student account questions

What happens if I have an unpaid balance at FAMU?

Any balance over $0.01 will result in a 'Negative Service Indicator' hold that prevents you from receiving your diploma, AA certificate, or official transcripts. If your balance reaches $500 or more, you will also be blocked from registering for future terms. Accounts outstanding for 120 days or more are sent to a collection agency, and you are responsible for all collection costs. Contact Student Financial Services at studentaccountsdocs@famu.edu or (850) 561-2949 to resolve your balance.

What holds can prevent me from registering at FAMU?

FAMU uses many types of holds that block registration: Cashiering Hold (unpaid balance of $500 or more), Advisement Hold (have not met with academic advisor), Financial Responsibility Hold (Financial Responsibility Statement not completed), Alert Service Indicator Hold (academic requirements not met), Immunization Hold, Orientation Hold, and others. Check your iRattler Student Center to see all active holds and resolution steps. For financial holds, contact Student Financial Services at (850) 561-2949. For advisement holds, schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor.
