What happens if I have an unpaid balance at Estrella Mountain Community College?

Any outstanding balance — including unpaid tuition, course fees, library items, parking tickets, or student loans — results in a hold on your account. Holds block registration at any Maricopa Community College and prevent the release of grades. Uncleared debts may be referred to a collection agency and can affect your credit rating. Arizona state income tax refunds may also be withheld to satisfy debts. Partial payments are accepted but all restrictions remain until the account is paid in full. Contact Student Business Services at sbs@estrellamountain.edu or (623) 935-8888, Option 2.

What happens if I stop attending classes without officially withdrawing at EMCC?

Never attending is not an allowable refund exception or an excuse for debt incurred through registration. You must officially withdraw before the deadline to receive any refund. For classes 70+ calendar days long, you have 7 calendar days from the class start date to withdraw for a 100% refund. Contact Enrollment Services at (623) 935-8888, Option 1 to withdraw.
