Brandeis University student account questions
What happens if I don't pay my Brandeis bill by the due date?
A late payment charge of $100 or 2% of the outstanding balance (whichever is greater) will be assessed. A financial hold will also be placed on your account, preventing you from registering for future classes or receiving your diploma. If the debt goes to a collection agency, you may be responsible for collection fees up to 40% of the outstanding balance.
What is Brandeis's tuition refund schedule if I withdraw from the university?
For flat-rate tuition: 100% refund before the academic period start date; 75% on or before the 10th day; 50% on or before the 30th day; 0% after the 30th day. Withdrawal must be approved in writing through the Office of Academic Services. Not attending class does not constitute a withdrawal and does not reduce your financial obligation.
How do I pay my Brandeis bill and is there a payment plan?
Brandeis bills electronically each semester via the Nelnet Student Account Portal (accessed through Workday). You can pay by e-check for free, or by credit card with a user fee. A monthly semester payment plan is available for $45 per semester (no interest), spreading payments over 4–5 monthly installments. Plans must be set up by the semester due date to avoid late fees and registration holds.
Is two-factor authentication required to log in to Brandeis systems?
Yes. All Brandeis students, faculty, and staff are required to use Duo two-factor authentication to access university systems, including Google apps (Gmail, Drive), Workday, and LATTE (the Moodle-based course platform). You'll need a secondary device such as a smartphone, tablet, or hardware token (available from the Technology Help Desk at help@brandeis.edu or 781-736-4357).
