Boise State University student account questions

What happens if I have an unpaid balance at Boise State?

If your unpaid balance reaches $500 or more, Boise State will place a financial hold on your account preventing you from registering for future classes. On the day after the payment deadline, a $50 deadline penalty is assessed. Monthly late fees of 1.75% of your past-due balance (or $10 minimum, whichever is greater) are then charged each month. If your account becomes delinquent, it may be referred to an external collections agency — adding fees up to 33% of the outstanding amount — and reported to national credit bureaus. Contact Student Financial Services at sfinfo@boisestate.edu or (208) 426-1212.

What holds can prevent me from registering at Boise State?

Registration holds at Boise State include: financial holds (unpaid balance of $500 or more), Financial Responsibility Agreement (FRA) hold (if not signed each semester), academic holds (failing to meet academic standards or required advising appointments), conduct holds (Student Code of Conduct violations), and admissions holds (incomplete documentation). Log in to my.boisestate.edu to see your active holds and which office is responsible for each. Financial holds: contact SFS at sfinfo@boisestate.edu or (208) 426-1212. Log in to myBoiseState at my.boisestate.edu (MFA required). From your Student Center, select the Student Financials tile to view your balance and charges due. Does Boise State require a Financial Responsibility Agreement (FRA) before registration?

Yes. Each semester you must complete a Financial Responsibility Agreement in your myBoiseState Student Center before you can register for classes. Find it in the tasks tile. By signing, you accept financial responsibility for all tuition, fees, and associated costs. Once completed, the FRA hold is automatically removed and you can proceed to register.
